The CARE Course (Comprehensive Approach to Rural Emergencies) is a traveling two-day program that provides interactive hands-on learning in a fun, warm and supportive inter-professional environment. Join us at the second Rural Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Congress on May 28. This full-day event focusing on proficiency in office-based, MSK, and cardiac ultrasound will provide learners an opportunity to increase confidence in their POCUS skills and make meaningful connections through shared passion for POCUS innovation. 

Eligibility: This course is only available to actively practicing physicians, midwives and NPs, with priority given to those practicing in BC RSA communities. The Nawh Whu’nus’en – We See in Two Worlds: Trauma sensitive practices for collectively healing in relationship curriculum is rooted in Two-Eyed seeing methodology, weaving together Indigenous ways of knowing with Western trauma theory and neuroscience. The curriculum is built on understanding the immense power of experiential Indigenous land-based healing practices for maintaining a state of wellness. This workshop is an in-person adaptation of Levels 1 and 2 of the curriculum that have been offered online by UBC CPD, in partnership with RCCbc since 2023.

Where Wellness Takes Root: The Ancient Forest Experience

Wander through thousand-year-old western red cedars, lush mosses, lichens, fungi, and rich biodiversity along an accessible boardwalk designed for all abilities, with options to explore further to iconic sites like Big Tree, Tree Beard, and a cascading waterfall. A boxed lunch is included before returning to the Conference Centre by 3:30pm. This will be a perfect way to connect, recharge, and start the conference grounded and inspired.
